The Nantucket is sale pending on Yacht World.

Rich called the broker who showed us the Nantucket to ask him about researching a couple boats in San Diego and asked him about the Nantucket.  Before we looked at it, someone had made a low ball offer.  The seller didn’t even counter the offer, but just blew the buyer off.  The broker said the buyer came back with a better offer and the seller took it.  It was a great boat, just not great for us.

Rich is going diving in San Diego in July and will hopefully have time to look at a couple boats.  I saw a really nice 1977 Gulfstar 43 Ketch on YW.  The interior layout was basically identical to the one in San Diego, but it was finished with nice upholstery and the wood work looked clean.  The Gulfstar 43 in San Diego might be our best bet for getting a boat within our budget.  I contacted a guy on Cruisers Forum who owns a Gulfstar 43.  He’s in the process of refinishing it.  I showed him the listing on YW we were looking at and he told me he bought his in Florida for $37,000.  That’s $22,000 less than the San Diego boat which leads me to believe there is some wiggle room there.
