Steering

We’ve got some Edson knock-off steering pedestal that was looking in pretty bad shape.  We took the whole thing apart and had the aluminum parts powder coated.  It looks amazing now.  We also improved the horizontal bracing on the compass guard so now it’s not just pretty, it’s sturdy too.

While the pedestal was at the powder coating shop we seriously considered switching from the pedestal to a tiller because the cockpit felt so much bigger without the pedestal taking up the space in the middle. And it would free up a lot of space in the engine room as well.  It’s just one of those projects we didn’t have the time to do and we were unsure about making the switch so we stuck with the pedestal.
