Hal-yard-lujah!!

I thought I’d take a step back from my typical captious tendencies, and give Rich the praise he rightly deserves.  Last summer someone (and I’m not naming names) lost our main halyard to the top of the mast.  Over the past seven months or so we’ve periodically given thought to retrieving it.

Oh, the Humidity!

It’s fall in northern California.  What’s that mean?  It means chilly nights (mid to low 40s), foggy mornings, and sunny afternoons (low 60s).  Not too shabby you might say.  We’ve had two days of rain outside.  News reports say we’re technically in a drought, but I beg to differ!

Wind…..

So today turned out to be a crap day for doing anything what so ever  on boat related projects with a stiff blow coming from North/Northwest in excess of a steady 20 knots, and gusts above 35.  Forecast says it’s gonna’ be like this ’til Tuesday.

Car Ride – Round Two

Suki and I faced off for Car Ride – Round Two on Saturday.  We were in a different car, but the result was the same.  Hopefully we’ll only have to do this a couple more times before we move permanently aboard.  Once she’s onboard she’s totally content to cruise around below and on deck.

Getting Down to Business

Boat projects the past couple weekends included finishing sanding the cabinets and painting the cabinets.  I only had the front half of the boat to sand so I hung a tarp, opened a hatch and some ports, donned my dust mask and dove in.  What a dusty mess!
